Card Check Bill stalls $50 Million Local Project, 800 Jobs in Eau Claire

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reported on the impact that the federal “card check” legislation is having on job creation in the Chippewa Valley. A major employer was planning to locate to Eau Claire, create 800 jobs, and invest $50 million. It would be a welcome addition to the region, especially after so many jobs have already been lost in this recession.

Now, the employer plans to locate the jobs out of country if “card check” passes at the federal level. This shows the negative impact of the job-killing legislation that the Democrats are pushing at the state and federal level. While they’re busy rewarding their union buddies with legislation like “card check,” jobs in our state and country suffer.

Here’s my response, calling on state Democrat legislators to join me in supporting a resolution urging Congress to NOT pass “card check,” along with asking them to support a constitutional amendment ensuring a worker’s right to a secret ballot.
